Random Quote of the Week

Thank you whoever made this and Facebook for letting me see this!!

To all the single ladies in such a hurry to get married, here's a quick piece of Bibical advice:

Ruth patiently waited for her mate Boaz. While waiting on YOUR Boaz, don't settle for ANY of his relatives: Brokeaz, Poaz, Lyinaz, Cheatinaz, Dumbaz, Cheapaz, Lockedupaz, Goodfornothinaz, Lazyaz or Marriedaz, and especially his third cousin Beatinyoaz. Please, wait for your Boaz and make sure he respects Yoaz.

I am so glad I found my Boaz!!

Updates of my dear Bampa... Paul Reid

**Disclaimer: This is the story according to JaNae... I could very easily have dates wrong, or different things wrong... So this is not necessarily set in stone, but it's pretty close :)**

I am unsure of how many people know what is going on, but I figured that it will make life a lot easier if I just write down and update how he is as of right now... Dec 31, 2010 at 12:33pm

As probably most people know in August 2010 he went in for surgery to get his left foot amputated due to a disease called PAD (Peripheral Artery Disease...I think) which caused the blood to quit circulating in his feet. They amputated mid calf. He was in the hospital for about a month and then in Rehab for a few weeks, then we were able to get him home. All the while his sons were remodeling the house so we could get the wheel chair in and out and so he could move around as he wishes.

Although he was home he was still pretty sick. The surgery took a lot out of him, he was in constant pain, and couldn't eat and just miserable. My Grandma took him into the ER a week or two before Christmas because he was severely dehydrated and one sick man. They ended up admitting him, and was able to get him a feeding tube and an IV to try and get his health back up. He was doing really well, all things considered and they put him in the continuing care unit. About 3 days before Christmas he went downhill and they put him in ICU. On the 29th they transported him from MVH-ICU to UVRMC-ICU.

On the 30th, we found out that he had so much infection in him that he would likely not make it through the day. They put him on a respirator until all his family could be there, then we all said our goodbyes and they took him off the respirator about 5pm. The doctors thought that given his condition it wouldn't be an hour before he were to pass on. Well... 19 hours later... his vitals are still good. He is not on any kind of breathing machine or anything. If anyone knows my Grandpa, this isn't really surprising. He is one stubborn man, and he will go when he is darn ready to. At this point in time it is just a waiting game. He could pass on in an hour... he could pass on in 3... or a few days.
We are all holding up as well as anyone can when losing someone close to them. I just ask that you keep us all in your thought and prayers, especially my dear Grandma, Carolyn Reid, who is losing the love of her life.

Thank you for all of your love and support through the last few months, I know you will be blessed.
Love JaNae
